In the Blog/Varia section we publish project-related news, such as information about conferences, workshops, information about our publications and organised events, curiosities. It is also a place where short notes prepared by students cooperating with us appear.

In April, we participated in the EUROGEO conference in Kraków 2023, “FUTURE-READY GEOGRAPHY”.

The conference goal was to incentivise future-oriented exchange and discussion among scientists representing all sub-disciplines of geography, geography teachers and heads of faculties. The focal point of the debate was how geography as a science and school subject can get ready for the “future.”

During the conference, our colleague dr Radosław Piskorski presented a paper: Online teacher trainees’ workshops on webGIS story maps to learn geography and local and foreign urban heritage. The paper discussed the results of the HERIGEOCARTO workshop and the possibility of implementing online methods (using webGIS tools) to teach about urban and religious heritage by applying new perspectives.
